Lea Nikel: the making of CATALOGUE RAISONNÉ

The Lea Nikel Foundation has begun collecting material concerning the artist for the project of creating CATALOGUE RAISONNÉ of her artworks.
CATALOGUE RAISONNE is a publication which includes all the artworks that an artist has ever created, and is intended to serve as the most important source of information of the artist’s artworks and a reference to prove their originality. The project will extend over several years to include an international research to locate, identify and document all the artworks of Nikel.

Each entry in the Catalogue will include a photograph of the artwork, Provenance – documentation of former owners, participation in exhibitions and publications where she was cited or mentioned.
Consequently, the Catalogue will serve as a reliable source of information for experts, collectors, and art dealers, and in this aspect listing each painting in the Catalogue is advisable even for its owner as in the future only the enumeration in the Catalogue shall constitute proof to the authenticity of the painting.
